This paper presents research into this transition. By taking into account the attentiveness of the driver, different strategies were evaluated in a simulator study to create an optimal transition given the situation at hand. The study concentrates on an automated platoon system ‘Virtual Tow Bar’.

This study investigated solutions to improve the tractor-trailer position algorithm used in the current Basic Savety Message (BSM) and proposed an enhanced BSM for articulated vehicles by integrating trailer information into Part II of the BSM.

The detailed timing, sequence, and presentation measurements from the various research efforts involved herein could be used to develop human factors design principles. Crash avoidance technologies are evolving rapidly toward increasing automation, involving a higher complexity of interoperability between user and vehicle functions than has previously been known.

In this study, we propose a method to assess driver personality traits using vehicle motion and driving activitysignals as inputs. Furthermore, we consider the relationship between the driving motion pattern in front of a pedestrian crossing and the measure of emotional empathy (as one of the psychological scales)

Presentation at start of Build Environment workshop, future trend on environment, cars, energy, use, expert forecasts, research results.

Truck Platooning is the future of transportation in which trucks drive cooperatively at less than 1 second apart made possible by automated driving technology. Transportation companies benefit from lower fuel consumption and improvements in (driver) productivity, while society benefits from fewer accidents, safer traffic and less congested roads, and lower carbon emissions.
