Road authorities possibly play a role to limit the negative effects of truck platooning. One way is to send messages from road side units to truck platoons containing instructions for the behaviour of truck platoons. In this document a use case clarifies some possibilities for road authorities.

Op 4 oktober heeft Werkgroep art. 29, de gezamenlijke Dataprotectie Autoriteiten in Europa een opinie uit gebracht over de dataprotectie aspecten van C-ITS. Dit op uitnodiging van het EU platform C-ITS, werkgroep 4, die daartoe een aanvraag had ingediend.

The data protection authorities justly take a strong stand against abuse of personal data. However in the case of C-ITS it seems to lead to restrictive interpretations of the data protection legislation.
